Making History...with Rick

"Saddleback has always been a history-making church."

Amazing isn't it? Saddleback Church leadership, 
Rick (and associates,) claims that it sticks out above and over 

every (any) other church in "American history..."  
and when it comes to 

"history-making," they're all over it, 
kinda like white is on rice.
  They not only boast  themselves historical, but 

but make-up, invent, rewrite, re-imagine, revise, 
contrive or otherwise manipulate events to convince you 
about it too.  They will even use a bandwagon fallacy
 to get you to feel as if you are not part of the important "crowd"
and that you need to 

go along with them in their attempt.

"We're going to make history again!... and you don't want to be left out do you?
  Imagine if you'd been invited to sail on the historic Mayflower
   ....or were one of the few privileged to sign the Declaration of Independence
   ....or you had the opportunity to march along side Martin Luther King Jr.

(Saddleback Church is on par with such historic events as these?)

You would NOT want to tell your grandchildren,"Yes, it's true that I had the opportunity to be a part of making history...but I was too busy and tired that night, so I stayed home and missed the blessing!"  You'd regret that decision the rest of your life.  Saddleback once again is embarking on another history-making adventure.  You may have missed out earlier... but you are here now!"

Saddleback Church, we are told by Rick,  is on par with Pentecost.

"Two thousand years ago the day of Pentecost was the first day of the Christian Church.  Acts 2:41 tells us, 'About 3,000 people were baptized and joined the church that day.' If you join us this weekend, history could be repeated at Saddleback.  Want to make history?"

Except people have been bribed to come....They get to go to class taught

 by a celebrity figure, Rick,  and get a free picture of their baptism with him in it,

their name added to the special list of "Pioneer Members" as well as get a

Rick is all about re-imagining and re- inventing history and historical events....like the one he staged at Anaheim in 2005:

.... and a new spiritual awakening in our world."

Note:  Not a spiritual rebirth into eternal life through

 faith in Christ as has been around for 2000 years, 

but new, and definitely "historic.")
